Zendaya Shares Behind-The-Scenes Look From ‘Dune 2’ Production
While production is still going on, Zendaya Coleman provides a behind-the-scenes look at “Dune: Part Two.” Due to her professional obligations, the actress has been less active on social media, but she recently provided an update by tweeting a picture from the set of the much anticipated sequel.
The 26-year-old posted a set image of an idyllic sunset on Arrakis on her Instagram Story on November 16th. She added over the picture, “I know I’ve been silent, but I’m here, just working as normal. Anyway, giving you [a red heart emoji] love from Arrakis.
Behind-the-scenes photos from “Dune: Part Two” were posted by Zendaya.
Production on the “Dune” sequel is presently underway in Abu Dhabi, which stands in for the movie’s fictional desert planet Arrakis. Pre-shooting productions for the movie also took place in Jordan and Italy before principal photography started in Budapest, Hungary, in July of this year.
Chani, a young Fremen woman and the love interest of Timothee Chalamet’s character Paul Atreides, will be played by Zendaya once more. She played a minor supporting role in the first film, but she will co-star as the protagonist in the next one.
Timothee recently gushed over Zendaya’s performance in Variety, saying, “She hasn’t wrapped yet, and it’s great.” She is bringing more of exactly what she brought to the first one, which was wonderful.
The “Bones and All” star gushed over his genuine friendship with the Emmy-winning actress, saying that she “has actually become a sister” to him. “I’m so grateful to count her as a partner, a sister, and a friend,” he continued, adding that it’s “amazing” for the two to share stories about working with Luca Guadagino, the director of Zendaya’s upcoming 2023 film “Challengers” and Timothee’s 2017 films “Bones and All” and “Call Me by Your Name.”
Back in charge of “Dune: Part Two” is Denis Villeneuve. It features new cast members Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Christopher Walken, and Lea Seydoux in addition to Rebecca Ferguson (II), Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem reprising their roles from the first half of Frank Herbert’s novel of the same name. On November 3, 2023, the film is scheduled for release.
